Compression stockings are a conservative treatment option for managing varicose veins. While they do not eliminate or cure the underlying diseased vein, they can help improve circulation and reduce symptoms such as aching, swelling, heaviness, fatigue, and discomfort in the legs.
Compression stockings may be recommended if you experience symptoms of venous disease, spend long periods sitting or standing, are pregnant, or are not yet ready for a procedural treatment. If you notice visible varicose veins, leg swelling, skin changes, or persistent leg discomfort, it may be time to have your veins assessed by our vascular surgeon to determine whether compression therapy or another treatment option is right for you.
